Why can't entrepreneurs exit

Why can't entrepreneurs exit.

From the NY Times

A couple of elements I noted were:
The entrepreneur realized that selling to investors, meant that they'd be selling to someone else down the road. And he would lose control over the company.

The investors gave some strategic advice, that the entrepreneur decided to implement.

Thinking of the business as something that you need to control/influence is part of what helps makes entrepreneurs so successful. However, when the business grows beyond your ability to influence/handle/control it becomes the challenge to let it go. Or hem it in so that it doesn't get beyond your grasp.

Either way, it's hard to exit and let go.
